Novel research from South Dakota State University's Department of Natural Resource Management is exploring if trained dogs can help prevent bacterial outbreaks in South Dakota's bighorn sheep herds.

WATCH: Keeping America's "Most Unwanted" Fish Out of South Dakota's Waters

Invasive carp pose a significant threat to South Dakota's lakes and rivers, natural resources that are treasured by thousands of anglers, boaters and water sports enthusiasts each year. Researchers from South Dakota State University's Department of Natural Resource Management are working in conjunction with South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks officials to ensure these natural resources remain largely free from one of "America's most unwanted fish."

SDSU involved in $8 million STEM education investment in South Dakota

South Dakota State University will join a project, led by Black Hills State University, to create pathways for young learners to develop interest and confidence in science, technology, engineering and math through an $8 million investment from the National Science Foundation.

Engineering students design affordable prosthetic to help amputees in war-torn countries

A team of South Dakota State University mechanical engineering students has designed a cheap and affordable prosthetic that can be built with materials readily available around the world. The "Kingetics" senior design team of Alex Wakeman, Mark Gronowski, John Hoekman and Paul Kerauma designed the prosthetic with the intention of helping amputees in developing or war-torn countries.
