Free Legal Aid Office Hours

The Students' Association employs a lawyer to provide legal aid services to SDSU students on legal practices including rental agreements, citizenship procedures, and other legal matters. Legal aid office hours resumed and will be taking place every Wednesday from 3:00pm - 6:00pm in the Students' Association Office. Please reach out to sdsu.sachiefofstaff@sdstate.edu to schedule an appointment.

Valentine's Cookie Decorating & Movie

Want to make a sweet treat with your sweetheart or friends? Come out to McCrory Gardens from 6-9pm on Tuesday, February 14th to enjoy mocktails and s'mores while watching How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and playing Valentine's Day trivia. There are a lot of great prizes and a raffle drawing for all attendees so be sure to stop by. There will be a shuttle transporting students from the Union to McCrory so no need to worry about parking or a cold walk over.

Jazz Night

Come on down to Cottonwood Coffee on Thursday, Feb. 23rd at 7pm to take a quick study break and enjoy some jazz music, coffee, and poetry! The event will feature the Joel Shotwell quintet from Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society. There will also be an open jam session for students to play with the band or read some poetry!

Stop Kiss by Dianna Son

State University Theatre & Dance is proud to present Stop Kiss by Diana Son in the Fishback Studio Theatre at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center. At its broadest, Stop Kiss is about how to have a voice as a women, speak in your defense, and answer the question, "What do you want?" Stop Kiss does contain mature language and themes.

Miracle Week is a week full of activities and fundraisers to support the Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD!

What is State a Thon?

State a Thon is a student-led organization that raises money for Children's Miracle Network all year long. State a Thon Miracle Push Week is a great way to connect with the community and make a huge difference!

Food Recovery Network

6. Food Recovery Network

Fight Food Waste with Free Meals!

Looking For A Free Meal?

Food Recovery Network is a nationally affiliated organization that recovers leftover food from partner agencies and donates them to nonprofit agencies, diverting this food from the landfill. All food is frozen and placed in microwave safe containers. Meals this week include Vegetable Pot Pie, Pizza, Chicken/Rice and are available for pickup at the University Lutheran Center on Thursdays from 6-9pm.

Brookings Disability Awareness Committee

Term Length: 1 year

Purpose: The Brookings Disability Awareness Committee strives to advocate for the rights of people who have disabilities in our community.

 

Human Rights Commission

Term Length: 1 year

Purpose: The mission of the Brookings Human Rights Commission (BHRC) is to improve human relations in the Brookings area by fighting discrimination through education and a complaint resolution procedure.

 

Sustainability Council

Term Length: 1 year

Purpose: The purpose of the Sustainability Council is to investigate, propose, educate, communicate, and advocate investment strategies and policies that will improve our quality of life while still meeting the needs of the present.

Here you can find policies, processes, information on how to get involved and details about student services and supports to make you successful. You also have many ways to report a concern both related to academics and non-academics. Finally, if you need assistant, know that we are here to help and our Student Ombudsperson and the University Ombuds Office are both resources to assist you in many different ways.
