Are you looking for some good entertainment? Check out the new play "The Escape Thingy!"
The Escape Thingy
Los Angeles actor and playwright Deb Hiett will be in Brookings to celebrate the collegiate premier of her new play The Escape Thingy. Performance dates are February 22-24 at 7:30pm and February 25 at 2:00pm at the Fishback Studio Theatre in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center on the South Dakota State University campus. There will be a public dialogue with Deb after the Friday performance.
In The Escape Thingy, two very different couples meet in an "Escape Room" game night, each needing very different types of escape. The clock is literally ticking as they attempt to solve the puzzles, distinguish facts from alternative facts, and weigh the risks of unlocking the door to the dangerous world outside.
Adults tickets are $22, Seniors/Military/SDSU Employee/Children are $20 and SDSU Students are FREE with Student ID. The Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center Box Office will open for in-person sales one week prior to the opening performance.

7. SDSU Climate, Safety, and Sexual Assault Survey
Take an important survey, Jackrabbits!
SDSU Climate, Safety, and Sexual Assault Survey
Every other year, South Dakota State University participates in a national survey designed to assess the overall campus climate at post-secondary institutions. Students, staff, and faculty will receive an email invitation on January 22nd from wess@webebi.com with a unique link for the SDSU Climate, Safety, and Sexual Assault Survey. The survey will take place from Monday, January 22nd to Thursday February 15th. Please watch your email inbox and plan to complete this important survey. We also appreciate your efforts to encourage others to complete the survey, too.
This survey provides SDSU employees and students an opportunity to voice their experiences and perceptions of the university environment. Some questions are sensitive. Your participation in this study is voluntary and you may skip questions or opt out at any time. Individual responses will be confidential. Only aggregated results will be shared with the university community. Results from the survey will help us enhance the campus environment for all who interact with the SDSU community, including students (current and future), alumni, visitors, faculty, staff, and stakeholders. Your feedback is important to us, and we hope you participate in this effort. For more information about this survey, please contact Robyn Marschke, Assistant VP for Institutional Research and Assessment, and she will liaise with our SDSU Campus Climate Survey Committee. The survey is administered by Skyfactor Benchworks.
SDSU is working together with the Brookings Connect Chamber Committee to provide this unique opportunity for Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate students. It will take place on Monday, February 26, March 4, 18, and 25 from 6:00-8:00pm (3 sessions on-campus and 1 off-campus). This is a free program that aims to bridge the gap between academia and the professional world, providing a transformative experience for SDSU juniors, seniors, and graduate students.
Program participants will be selected through an application process and can expect to learn about:
You have great resources available right at your fingertips to help you through your experience at SDSU, one of which is the online Student Handbook. Here you can find policies, processes, information on how to get involved and details about student services and supports to make you successful. You also have many ways to report academics and non-academics concerns. Finally, if you need assistance, know that we are here to help and our Student Ombudsperson and the University Ombuds Office are both resources to assist you in a variety of ways.
To submit an event for consideration to be featured in the Rabbit Report, contact SDSU.SACommunications@sdstate.edu by Thursday at 11:59pm. Please include all event information written similarly to the format above. All submissions are subject to the Rabbit Report Submission Guidelines.
